After recently spotting fashion darling Diane Kruger with a side twist twirled into a low bun, we sought more easy hairstyle inspiration. And find it we did: Prada, YSL, and Blanc de Chine were all twisting things up on the spring '11 runways, but each with a unique edge, proving anyone can make this semi-sculptural look their own. Not only is this hairstyle easy, it also hits the ideal mark between the traditional essentials—namely the bun and the French twist—putting a new spin on the updo by creating a romantic and insanely hip DIY look that's definitely holiday party-ready.
The Tips: Hair guru Guido went for super sleek, twisted styles at both YSL and Prada. For YSL, he started with damp hair and applied Redken's Hardwear 16 Super Strong Gel. He recommends beginning the twist one one side above the ear and twisting horizontally inward, stopping at the center. Do the same on the other side, and once both sides are twisted, take the longer back portion and twist upwards. Secure with pins and hairspray.
