Most kids probably know that drinking sweetened drinks like soda is not good for you, but do they realize that other sweetened beverages can be just as bad? A study from the journal Pediatrics suggests that they may not. Over 10,000 Texas adolescents were asked to fill out a questionnaire on their beverage and food consumption as well as their levels of physical (in)activity. The authors found that kids with healthier habits were more likely to drink flavored and sports drinks.
