At our local Pathmark, Campbell's soup costs around $1.19. At Christies, expect to pay $50 million, specifically for Big Campbell's Soup Can with Can Opener (Vegetable) an iconic painting by pop artist Andy Warhol. Apparently, there are only 11 soup-can paintings in the world, and of those, 8 are held by museums. This baby—72 by 52 inches, and signed and dated "Andy Warhol 62"—"changed the course of art history," according to Christie's post-war and contemporary art deputy chairman. "No one had seen anyone do anything like this." If you're feeling mmm mmm good, head over to Christie's November 10. (New York Post)
